To address the factor of individualism or obsessive mobile device isolation in a public space by enhancing the opportunity of co-creation and boosting place-bound community interactions.
Pulse is a modular toolkit and a web experience which is based on the attributes of sound, visual and play, that has multiple MIDI like devices in it which acts as an interface to the audio experience on the site as well as on the mobile phones.
The multisensory tangible interface present on the location allows the user to control the live audio stream in a playful and engaging way. Pulse can senses the characteristics of the location it has been installed and adapts to the live audio stream accordingly.
Pulse provides an all inclusive and accessible user experience for all types of generation. It nudges the user by surprising and intriguing them out of self-isolation in a public space. There are several touchpoints for the users to interact with Pulse. Since Pulse, is a site-specific modular interface the experience differs from one location to another. The users can tweak the live audio stream parameters provided by the artist which can heard by multiple other users listening to the stream via Web.
The web experience comprises of a mobile device UX where the user can listens to location specific streams in their offices, homes or in the travel. The users can also get updates for upcoming events happening nearby and new artists who are going to provide their samples to a Pulse station.
The project aimed for the betterment of life in public spaces with the help of responsive media tools and co-creation as an important driving factor.
